I had some pieces of chicken in the fridge and I was thinking how to reinvent it. Then I started browsing the cookbooks through which I found a wonderful recipe.
I start by quoting the remarkable Radu Anton Roman, to whom this wonderful taste belongs, who says: "This chicken is not really for monks, it looks more like a festive cooking, for guests. one to lick your fingers! "
1 kg chicken
- 500 g mushrooms
- 400 ml smanatana
- 1 onion
- 5 cloves of crushed garlic
- 400 g bacon (or any kind of smoked meat)
- 1 or
- 300 ml soup (chicken or vegetables)
- 200 ml of sweet white wine
- 2-3 tablespoons butter
- pepper, paprika, thyme and parsley
Preparation time: less than 60 minutes
RECIPE PREPARATION Monastery chickens:
Season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, thyme, paprika and brown in a little butter. When the steak is browned, quench it with 200 ml of soup hot,put it in a tray and put it in the oven on low heat, for 15 minutes, to penetrate. The smoke is cut into pieces and put in a pan with chopped onion and a tablespoon of butter. Mix the mushrooms with the smoked onion and garlic. Let it sizzle a little and quench it with wine and the rest of the soup. Now comes the fragrant idea of a sauce. The steak in the oven is now tender so it can be drowned in the sauce, and on top we pour 200 ml of sweet cream. Leave the tray in the oven for another 15 minutes then straighten the food with beaten egg mixed with salt, pepper, thyme, chopped parsley and the rest of the sweet cream. From now on the food is ready! Serve this sophisticated goodness hot with bread or polenta! Great appetite!
