In this recipe the special ingredient is chocolate. We all like and smile at the idea of ​​trying any dessert that contains chocolate.

Lava cake is not just a dessert

This became the reason for a quarrel between two chefs. So the United States goes to "war" with France for a chocolate cake.

Jean-Georges Vongerichten is the chef who claims to have invented "Lava cake" in 1987 in New York City. Of course, he represents America. On the other hand, the representative of France, the French chef and the chocolate producer Jacques Torres disputes this and says that the idea was his.

Vongerichten says he tried to make another dessert. Instead, he took a "chocolate sponge" out of the oven before it was fully baked and realized that the inside was still soft. Although it was once considered a failure, now Lava cake is one of the most refined desserts.

To prepare this dessert we will need 160 grams of bitter chocolate, 75 grams of butter, 70 grams of powdered sugar, 30 grams of flour, 2 eggs, 2 egg yolks, 1 vanilla essence and a little salt. Once we have purchased these ingredients we can get to work.

Method of preparation

To start, preheat the oven to 218 degrees. Don't forget to ask your parents for help with this.

Then break or cut the chocolate into pieces and put with butter in a bowl. Put this bowl in the microwave until the ingredients melt. Also, if we do not want to use the microwave we can mix the two ingredients on a steam bath.

Meanwhile, mix the dry components such as flour, sugar and salt. Separately mix the eggs with the yolks, pour the mixture of dry ingredients and chocolate with melted butter. Mix carefully until you get a homogeneous paste.

All we have to do is line the shapes in which we want to bake the dessert with cocoa powder, pour the mixture into them and put them in the oven for 12-15 minutes. When they are ready, we wait a minute after which we can put them on the plates and decorate them as we sleep.

Remember to ask your parents for help when you need to use knives or a stove.

Earlier in the day, Kensington Palace shared photos of the handmade cards produced by Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The cards each featured personal messages written by the Cambridge children, addressing "Granny Diana."

"This year Mother & rsquos Day will be different once again," the caption explained. "Many of us will be apart from our loved ones, but looking forward to a time in the not too distant future when we can give our mother a hug again."

"But for those experiencing bereavement, today may be particularly challenging," the caption continued. "Every year on Mother & rsquos Day, George, Charlotte and Louis make cards remembering their Granny, Diana, for William. Whatever your circumstances, we are thinking of you this Mother & rsquos Day & # 128144."

The queen also commemorated Mother's Day by sharing a photo of herself with her mom, the Queen Mother. The photo was taken in April 1940 at the Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park. "To all Mums everywhere, we wish you a very special Mother & rsquos Day. #MotheringSunday," the caption explained.

Inside Grace Kelly's Fairytale Wedding

Take a look back at the American actress's royal marriage to Prince Rainier.

It's been called the wedding of the century. On April 19, 1956, in a real-life fairytale, American actress Grace Kelly became a princess when she married Monaco's Prince Rainier. More than 60 years later, we’re taking a look back at the details of that iconic day.

Now one of the most recognizable wedding dresses of all time, Kelly’s stunning gown was actually a gift to the actress from MGM. Designed by costume designer Helen Rose, it reportedly required 30 seamstresses and six weeks to make.

The dress, which features a high neckline, multiple petticoats, antique Brussels lace, and hundreds of tiny pearls, is now owned by the Philadelphia Museum of Art, which displays it from time to time. Its silhouette continues to inspire modern brides from Mirada Kerr to Kate Middleton, but it wasn't the only dress Kelly wore for her wedding.

She actually wore a second blush-colored lace dress (below) for her civil marriage ceremony, which took place at the palace before she wed Prince Rainier in the religious ceremony at St. Nicholas Cathedral.

Unlike some royal brides, Kelly opted not to wear a tiara on her wedding day. Instead, she chose a Juliet cap to hold her 90-yard veil in place, adorned with lace, seed pearls and paper orange blossoms.

Following her wedding (and 142 official new titles, including Serene Highness Princess Grace of Monaco, for the actress-turned-royal), the newlyweds jetted off on a seven-week cruise on the yacht, Deo Juvante II, a wedding gift from Onassis .

Heat the oven to 160C / 140C fan / gas 3. Grease and line a deep 15cm round cake tin, making sure the lining is higher than the top of the tin. Grease and base line to 1 liter ovenproof glass pudding basin.

Using electric beaters or a tabletop mixer, beat the butter, sugar, vanilla and ¼ tsp salt together until pale and fluffy, then pour in the eggs, one at a time, giving the mix a really good beating before adding the next. Add 1 tbsp of the plain flour if the mix starts to look slimy rather than fluffy. Beat in the yogurt.

Mix the flours then, using a large metal spoon, fold them into the batter, and spoon into the prepared tin and bowl. The mixture will come almost to the top. Place the bowl and cake tin on a baking tray. Cook in the oven for about 1 hour 40 to 1hour 50 mins. Allow the cakes to cool completely.

To make the butter icing, put the butter into a bowl and beat well until softened. Gradually beat in the icing sugar. Trim the tops of the cakes level. Slice the pudding basin cake in three and the 15cm cake in half. Using a 5cm round cutter, stamp out the center of each piece of cake.

Place one half of the 15cm cake on a cake board. Spread with a little butter icing and place the other half on top. Spread a little icing on this layer and top with the widest layer of the basin cake. Repeat with the other layers. Spread the remaining butter icing all over the assembled cake.

Take 250g white fondant icing and roll out into a long strip about 7cm wide. Press the edge gently with a teaspoon to give a frilled effect or use a ball tool. Attach to the base of the cake, pushing gently onto the icing.

Roll out the pink icing to a large circle about 36cm in diameter. Cut a hole from the center using the 5cm cutter. Cut away just under an eighth section of the icing. Drape the icing over the cake, making the join at the back. At even intervals push up the pink fondant to create a swagged look.

Spray the cake lightly with the edible luster. Take the doll and wrap the legs in plastic film. Place the doll in the cake. The top of the cake should come to hip not waist level. Using the trimmings, roll out an oblong of pink icing and wrap around the body of the doll to make the bodice. Smooth the bottom of the bodice onto the top of the skirt.

Roll out some white fondant and cut out a 9cm circle using a fluted or flower cutter. Cut a small circle from the center of this and then split one side and place around the waist of the doll, cutting away any excess. Use the remaining white icing to make a large bow and place at the back of the waist dolls.

Make up the royal icing according to pack instructions. Using a piping bag fitted with a small plain nozzle (or use a strong plastic bag and cut off the tip), pipe around the edge of the pink skirt. Attach a rose to the top of each swag. Pipe three lines of dots just above the roses going up the dress.

Pipe across the top of the bodice and half way down the front. Using the icing attach a sugar butterfly to the top of the bodice and one large sugar rose at the waist.


Sugar decorations are available from all the large supermarkets. If you can't find sugar butterflies and roses you can use silver balls and pretty sweets instead.

Prinsesstårta is a "princess cake" that is popular in Sweden. It is stunning and perfect for birthdays, celebrations, or any special occasion when you really want to show off your baking skills. It uses a white cake mix and includes a homemade pastry cream filling with raspberry jam.

Although this cake takes time to prepare, all of the elements can be made up to three days ahead of assembling. The resulting cake is magnificent with a smooth and beautiful green marzipan exterior. It is as delicious as it is attractive.
