Stumble in to your local Red Robin on New Year’s afternoon and wash down some Advil with this baby.

Had a little too much fun on New Year’s Eve? Red Robin has the cure for you. “The Cure” burger is a semi-secret menu item available at select Red Robin locations from January 1-7 that is touted as “just what the doctor ordered.” While you’re still shaking out the confetti from your hair, we’ll break it down for you: this beef burger is topped with chili, cheddar cheese, bacon, mushrooms and a sunny-side up egg. It's also served with Red Robin's Bottomless Steak Fries.

It sounds like a delicious part of a hearty breakfast, and a sure way to convince yourself to leave the comfort of your warm bed.

But if you really want to start 2015 off right (and healthy!), greasy food is actually just about the worst thing you can put into your body while nursing a hangover. The Daily Meal recommends eating bananas, light liquor, and exercise instead. Red Robin may have been on the right track with one thing though: eggs are also a good way to kick that gross morning-after feel.

Truly, this sandwich is just a good excuse to put off your New Year’s resolution to eat healthier for one week.

Red Robin Veggie Burger Review

So! Did you know that Red Robin offered a veggie burger? Sho Nuf! Back in the day, like for the past couple of years, they offered a vegetarian and vegan patty. The Garden patty and the Boca patty. The Garden burger had egg and was therefore not vegan. The Boca Vegan Veggie Burger has been ye ole staple of burger patty for many years. It’s not bad, but because it was one that vegans always turned to as a bring along to any cookout, one tends to get burned out on it very quickly. Besides, one can go to any grocery store and pick up a 12 pack and all the fixings for what Red Robin wanted for the one on their menu. I have…so many times before, found myself shopping at the local outdoor mall and wanted to grab something to eat before leaving. The only place, really, is the Red Robin in our particular outdoor mall. I have ordered it many a time, and every time was disappointed due to the lack of cooking it through. It was often still cold in the middle. They obviously kept those things in the freezer and only pulled them out when we came in to eat! I kept going back again and again for those bottomless fries and forcing myself to overpay for a barely thawed veggie burger! Ughhh.

However, today, Red Robin has redeemed themselves! Introducing the all NEW veggie burger!

This patty is unlike anything I have ever had before. It is house-made, and never frozen. Their menu says it is composed of ancient-grain-and-quinoa. It also has peppers, corn, onion and beans! Not sure why they don’t list those ingredients on the menu. It is delicious. There are plenty of other versions of meatless burger patties out there. Some actually mimic the texture of meat so well that it freaks me out. Red Robin decided to go with a patty that does not imitate something it is not. It is not as firm as other meatless patties. It is not as chewy. It does not “bleed”. It is simply a delicious concoction of grains, herbs, and veggies that satisfies one’s hunger. No need for all the other stuff! It reminds me of a fresh homemade potato pancake with veggies. It has that type of mouthfeel and texture.

As far as ordering it straight off the menu…DON’T DO IT! Just like so many other establishments, they think they only way these things will sell is to smother it in cheese and other non vegan toppings. As you can see from the menu description, it comes “piled high with Swiss cheese and lightly fried, Parmesan-sprinkled mushrooms”. I appreciate them adding that little notification below it Make it vegan! Our vegan veggie patty comes with fresh tomato bruschetta salsa, avocado slices and shredded romaine wrapped in a lettuce bun. Served with bottomless broccoli.”

No need to leave off the regular whole wheat bun, its vegan…so is the chibatta. So many times, I have seen establishments like this actually assume that vegan means gluten-free as well. Maybe that is why they offer it up on the lettuce “bun”. Crazy! So order it leaving off the shrooms and cheese. Or, you can do as I did, and order the patty alone and ask for lettuce, tomato, pickles, and onion on the wheat bun. Im sure that ordering the way I did also brings the calorie count down from 1200 to probably around half. Ill have to figure that one out.

So, next time you are out and about and decide to stop into a Red Robin, try this bad boy out. I’m pretty sure you will not be disappointed.

Avoid Every App But Two

The appetizers section of RR&rsquos menu is clogged with caloric clots. The diminutively named pretzel bites house 95 grams of carbs and 810 calories. Many of the wings have 20-plus grams of sugar, as does the &ldquoFresh-Fried Mushrooms&rdquo (31 grams?!). Even if you split the Towering Onion rings, you cram in 655 calories before the main course. Safer bets: the Classic Wedge Salad (vegetables!) and the chips with salsa and guacamole (avocado&rsquos fiber will help fill you up).

Red Robin Tries to Reel in Fasting Lenters with New Crab Cake Burger

It’s that time of year when McDonald’s brings out its Filet-o-Fish sandwich and fish taco sales go through the roof at taco shops, as observers of Lent try to eat as much seafood as humanly possible.

With Ash Wednesday approaching and Lent starting, Red Robin’s trying to get in on this seafood action with its new Wild Pacific Crab Cake Burger.

Red Robin’s making sure there’s no confusion who it’s trying to attract with this new menu item as they even wrote this cheesy invitation asking Pope Francis to try their new crabby patty.

If he accepts, they will give out free Crab Cake Burgers every Friday until April 2, which is the Friday before Easter, aka Good Friday.

Red Robin is asking folks to tweet at Pope Francis, who has a pretty strong Twitter presence with nine official accounts, in nine different languages and over 18 million total followers, so he can get to the nearest Red Robin and eat this Spongebob-inspired burger.

While they’re at it, they could tweet Steven Spielberg and see if they can get a dinner with the original Jaws robot. Maybe they should get people to tweet Katy Perry so Left Shark can try the burger. Since they’re aiming high, tweet Kim Jong-un and get him in a room with Katy Perry for a crab cake peace offering. Everyone knows Kim loves Katy Perry.

Make it happen, Red Robin. Make a crab cake superstar dinner and stream it live on Twitter. Then give us all free burgers.

Red Robin Introduces Bacon Curry and Zen Chicken Burgers

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews is kicking off the New Year with limited-time offerings that are packed with flavor. Beginning January 27, the chain is spicing up its menu with the Bacon Curry Burger, a fresh beef patty topped with Jalapeño-curry ketchup, curry-flavored red onions, hardwood-smoked bacon, provolone cheese, crispy potato sticks, pickles, shredded romaine and mayo. Guests can also enjoy Red Robin's Zen Chicken burger, a juicy grilled chicken breast topped with Asian-inspired honey-miso sauce, sweet & sour slaw, hardwood-smoked bacon, cheddar, avocado, pickles and lettuce. These menu items will be available through April 19.

Guests seeking a meat alternative can savor Red Robin's Impossible Cheeseburger, a fire-grilled patty made from plants and topped with Red's pickle relish, red onions, pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo and your choice of cheese. Guests can also substitute an Impossible patty on any of our Gourmet Burgers to enjoy.

Guess Which Restaurant Is Taking The Ramen Burger National

Back in our day, you had to travel all the way to New York or LA (and wait houuuuurrsss in line) to feast on a much coveted ramen burger. But now Red Robin wants to make your foodie life simpler by bringing the ramen burger to you. Starting April 4, you can taste the culinary sensation yourself at any Red Robin and see if it's as amazing as everyone has been saying it is or if it was just a hipster plot to make you think you were missing out on something.

TBH, the burger sounds pretty freaking sweet. The patty is topped with teriyaki and Chiu Chow aioli (whatever that is) and chili-infused shredded cabbage. And it's all held together by those legendary crispy ramen buns.

To pay tribute to the many packages of ramen that have kept college students "nourished" through the years, Red Robin is making April 19 "Red Ramen Day" and giving the first 22 college students with a valid student ID a Red Ramen Burger and bottomless fries. Best part, it's all for just 22 cents, the average price of a ramen packet. So if you're a college kid, def jump on this opportunity to get a little protein and fries on top of your regularly scheduled ramen.

If you're not a college student, Red Robin is still giving you a little love, at participating locations you can get $2.22 off this new burger.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to say that you tried it before it was cool, but at least now you have the opportunity feast on this ramen burger and finally be in the loop.

The Wolverine Unleashes the Berserker Burger at Red Robin

You can also experience the tastes of the Kuzuri Tavern in this unique promotion for the upcoming 20th Century Fox Marvel adventure.

It's not a particularly slow news day, and we're not shilling for Red Robin. We're just ultimately fascinated by food stuff that is based on or around movies, like the death on a black bun Darth Vader burger sold last year in conjunction with the release of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace 3D (before Disney got a hold of the franchise). Now comes The Wolverine Berserker Burger, which is topped off with a brioche bun marked by Logan's signature adamantium claw marks. There might also be some of Logan's signature chest hair mixed in with the aioli. (What do you think makes it so zesty?)

Best: Red's Tavern Double

McGrane says that "Red's Double Tavern is the lowest in calories and one of the lowest in saturated fat, sugar, and sodium" of all the Tavern burgers on the Red Robin menu. However, the sodium content is still high, so be mindful of that as you order and make sure to drink plenty of water.

Red Robin’s Gluten-Free Menu

Red Robin has a diverse gluten-free menu. You can view the entire, up-to-date allergen-friendly menu on its website. Let’s discuss some of the highlights on Red Robin’s gluten-free menu:

French Fries: French fries are at the top of my list because you can get the best steak-cut French fries around at Red Robin. When you order fries, ask for them to be gluten-free. They will cook them fresh for you in a DEDICATED gluten-free fryer. If you don’t ask for them to be gluten free, they will be cooked in the regular, gluten-y fryer.

The fries will come out with a purple toothpick in them to signal they are gluten free. You can enjoy the chili cheese fries appetizer and sweet potato fries as both are gluten free when requested.

Burgers: Of course no visit to Red Robin would be complete without a burger, after all, Red Robin is known for its burgers. You can order a burger with a gluten-free bun (not the best tasting bun to be honest) or generously lettuce-wrapped (recommended and delic!).

My choice beef burger is the Wedgie Burger (without bacon). It a lettuce-wrapped burger topped with guacamole, tomatoes and red onion. My choice meatless burger is the Impossible Burger (lettuce-wrapped).

Impossible Burgers were reformulated in January 2019 (known as Impossible Burger 2.0) to be 100 percent gluten-free. It is made with soy protein vs. wheat protein (aka, gluten). The Impossible Burger has the same taste and texture of a legit burger, making it indistinguishable from a regular burger. (Read more about Gluten-Free Plant-Based Proteins)

You can order pretty much any burger on the menu with a gluten-free bun or lettuce-wrapped. Some may require a few substitutions or omissions to be fully gluten-free compliant, so check with your server for details.

Chicken burgers, turkey burgers and veggie burgers also can be made gluten-free with a bun swap.

Entrees: There are only two entrees that can be made gluten-free at Red Red Robin: (1) the Ensenada Chicken Platter, and (2) the Sear-ious Salmon with no sides. I don’t know many people who visit Red Robin for the entrees, so it’s no biggie that I can’t eat most of ’em.

Soups: You can order the French onion soup (with no croutons), the clamdiggers clam chowder, and the chili if you’re in the mood for soup. All are gluten-free.

Salads: The Avo-Cobb-O Salad (no croutons), Bottomless House Salad (no croutons), Mighty Caesar Salad (no croutons), Simply Grilled Chicken Salad (no croutons), and Southwest Chicken Salad (no jalapeno coins), can all be made gluten free. I’m pretty sure all dressings (or at least the majority of them) are gluten free inquire with your server to be certain.

The Red Robin Seasoning: In the past, Red Robin’s seasoning was not labeled gluten free so most of us avoided it. However, Red Robin says on its website that its seasoning is indeed gluten-free, and it’s labeled as such on each carton. Guests resolving for a meat alternative can enjoy Red Robin’s new Gourmet Veggie Burger, a custom-blended, ancient-grain-and-quinoa veggie patty piled high with Swiss cheese, Parmesan-sprinkled mushrooms, tomato bruschetta salsa, fresh avocado slices, sun-dried tomato spread and shredded romaine on a whole grain bun. It’s a veggie burger finally done right and available at Red Robin restaurants nationwide.
