White Wine Spritzer: Light, Sparkly, and Low Carb

This light, sparkling white wine spritzer is low carb and perfect for holiday celebrations. With just 2 carbs per 8 ounce serving it’s a pretty, refreshing cocktail recipe you’ll use again and again. Use ginger ale if you like a sweeter, more flavorful cocktail and the club soda if you prefer drier, fresher flavors.

For this recipe you’ll need: Chardonnay, pineapple vodka (make sure it is 0 calories – some less expensive flavored vodkas hav carbs), cranberries (no carbs because you’re not eating them), vanilla stevia drops, sugar free ginger ale or club soda, ice

Just two days until Thanksgiving, y’all. TWO days.

Every years I swear up and down that I will have everything scheduled and ready to go for the blogs so I can concentrate on cooking and baking but every year I find myself sitting here rushing to finish up so I can get my pies done. Generally it takes a couple of deep, cleansing breaths and a glass of wine to calm my racing thoughts.

This light white wine spritzer is one of my favorites. I? like to float frozen cranberries in it to keep it cold, give it just a touch of flavor without the carbs, and make it look pretty. If I happen to have a sprig of rosemary I’ll add that in, too. Light and sparkly, it’s a full 8 ounces of cocktail with just 2 carbs and that’s hard to beat.

A white wine spritzer isn’t going to hold up to a turkey dinner but it’s perfect when your guests are arriving and you’re serving appetizers. OR when, like me, you’re world is imploding with all of the stuff you have to do and you need a little something to remind yourself to relax.

Thank you for being a part of Lowcarb-ology! The vanilla stevia drops just give this white wine spritzer a mellowness that’s nice. It smooths out any jagged edges in the wine and enhances the drink. So good.

Who’s in the mood for red wine hot chocolate? Everybody?

To make your own mug of red wine hot cocoa, combine semisweet chocolate chips, milk, and red wine in a saucepan over low heat. Once the chips are melted, take the pan off the heat. Stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt.

You can stir your hot chocolate with a candy cane to give it a minty flavor, or add marshmallows – or both.

Use a dry, fruit-forward red wine like Merlot or Shiraz.

    My favorites, you ask?

While you can use any of these options in this cranberry spritzer recipe, I recommend that you stick with moscato because of its sweetness which balances out the tanginess of the cranberry juice perfectly.

A lot of times you will see an added sweetener to mixed beverages, but I much prefer to keep things simple, less ingredients on my list and still achieve the same result. So moscato it is!

Lastly, this cranberry wine spritzer is served very cold so be sure to have lots of ice handy but don&rsquot add it all at once otherwise you will water down the drink. Instead, make sure that all the liquids are as chilled as possible and only mix it just prior to serving or up to 2 hours prior. Read all the recipe notes for details.
