7 recipes with bacon because we know how much you like it

Who says bacon should always be next to two meshes on the plate? Let's introduce them to other ingredients. Here are some recipes with bacon that are clearly among our favorites.

I never get tired of bacon, no matter how much I eat. The joy of biting into a crunchy strip, well fried, it's hard to match for me. So we've put together a few for you, let's enjoy together!

Cauliflower with bacon and gorgonzola sauce

I had a cauliflower and I wasn't quite sure how to prepare it. So I asked for help from the online community. I received a lot of advice, both from those who follow the Facebook page of the blog, and from many members of two major culinary groups: My Passion, Cuisine and Romanian Cuisine / Romanian Cuisine. I learned many interesting things, many novelties, which put me even harder in the fog. So, in the end, "I did it my way." I ran and got another cauliflower (not to run out of raw materials), plus some bacon and some slices of raw-dried pork neck. I had the rest around the house. I got to work and here's what came out…

What do you need?

  • 2 cauliflower heads, about ½ kg each
  • 300 g thinly sliced bacon
  • 80 g raw-dried pork neck, thinly sliced
  • 400 mL cream (or cooking) cream with 30% fat
  • 150 - 200 g creamy Gorgonzola cheese (but it also goes spicy)
  • 20 + 20 g butter (80% fat)
  • 4 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • Pepper - to taste
  • 50 - 75 g grated Parmesan (or cheese, Grana Padano, Pecorino - a hard cheese)
  • ¼ tie green parsley, chopped - for decoration.

How do you proceed?

Unwrap the cauliflower in bunches approximately equal in size and leave it for about 30 - 45 minutes in a bowl of lukewarm water in which you have dissolved 3-4 tablespoons of coarse salt. If he has "tenants", they will quickly leave their home.

Scald the cauliflower bunches for 5 minutes in boiling water in which you put a pinch of salt, then drain well.

Meanwhile, grease a large pan with butter and line it with breadcrumbs. Preheat the oven to 200 - 220 ˚C.

Now comes the most nasty part: wrap each bunch of cauliflower with 2-3 strips of bacon, then place the bunches nicely in the pan, in a single layer. Season with pepper. If you have smaller bunches of cauliflower left, don't bathe. You will use those later.

Put the tray in the oven for 4 - 5 minutes, then another 3 - 4 minutes with the flame in the vault. In this way, the bacon will brown lightly.

As long as the bouquets are wrapped in the oven, get ready gorgonzola sauce:

Melt the other 20 g of butter in a saucepan, and in the melted butter add the cream, season with pepper (salt is not necessary, Gorgonzola cheese is salty enough) and bring to a boil.

Add the gorgonzola cheese cut into small cubes and mix until incorporated into the sauce, then add another 2-3 small bunches of scalded cauliflower, which you crush in the sauce. Bring to a boil.

Pour the sauce as evenly as possible in the cauliflower tray, and top with slices of pork neck and bacon. Season with pepper. (If you have small bunches of cauliflower left, put them in the tray, among the bunches wrapped in bacon. If not, no).

Reduce the oven temperature to 180 - 200 ˚C and put the tray in the oven for 35 - 40 minutes. Turn off the heat, sprinkle over the contents of the grated Parmesan cheese tray and put it in the oven for another 5 minutes (with the fire off).

Serve hot, possibly garnished with freshly chopped parsley. For wine drinkers I recommend a glass of Sauvignon Blanc semisec. For beer lovers, I reveal a secret: it works very well cauliflower with bacon and gorgonzola sauce with a glass of Guinness.
